In business since 1988, Distributel Communications in 100% Canadian-owned, and one of the pioneers of the competitive long-distance industry in Canada. When the company first started providing services in the Toronto area, the founder and president,, Mel Cohen, was forced into a ground-breaking battle with Bell Canada. At the time, Bell tried to argue that Distributel's service was illegal. Fortunately, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission ruled in Distributel's favor, a decision which helped open the door for competition in the long distance market in Canada. In 1991, Mr. Cohen and three entrepreneurs from Montreal decided to open business in the Quebec market. The partnership was a success, as was the sister company, Communication TELOSysteme inc., which operates as Distributel in Quebec. Together, the two companies have grown into an operation is relied upon by more then 200,000 subscribers across Ontario and Quebec for their long distance, Internet and paging solutions. As Mr. Cohen stated in an article in the June 1992 edition of the York Region Business Journal We ave s straight-up, up-bull approach to doing business. We're here for the long term, and we conduct our business accordingly. This business principle continues to be integral in Distributel's strategy, and as a result we have always provided high quality, competitively priced long distance services and communications solutions while maintaining an extremely high standard of customer service. We strive to be innovative, reliable and focused on consumer needs.more...See more text
I was a Distributel old when my Mom died. Distributel at the beginning was excellent, but not now.
I call to cancel the internet. The new worker asked me, if I ll do a break and I answered him Non. I ll move To another adresse. After my mom death,
I didnt check my electronic bank transactions and some months later. I saw that this worker, stop the automatic pay for only 1 month and the next month they continued to take the automatic pay.???
I was living in another adresse. I lost $200.
After canceling our service with Distributel they said they will send a box for us to put the Router in. We never got the box so we called. Again we were told that the will send a box. This scenario happened a few other times. We tries to call of many occasions but it takes at least 25-35 minutes to speak to a french agent since they say that if the account is in french only a french agent can talk to us... After many failed attempts to reach an agent we forgot about that. Back to the present i
COMMUNICATION COMPANY with NO COMMUNICATION SKILLS
I am so disappointed at this company and do not recommend it to any wise Canadian!
“Distributel Communications Limitée” is a networking company who does not know how to communicate to its customers. They charged me for long distance service after the end of promotion s without asking me or even letting me know about it. When I contacted me, they indirectly called me liar and accusing me of knowing it. They preferred o lose a customer over 40 $. They have no respect for the customers. They make to agree to a one year term contract , and not sending you a single invoice ,even by email; BECAUSE THEY ARE A LOUSY COMMUNICATION COMPANY. Not recommended at all even to my enemies!
