My wife is a sushi expert. She has tried almost every sushi restaurant in the downtown vicinity on multiple occassions and quite often the staff will know who she is. That being said, I definitely trust her opinion on Sushi and right now this place is her favorite. It is a small sit-down/takeout restaurant on Robson street and it is fairly new, and the sushi is fantastic. The salmon is always fresh and since they don't serve famred salmon it is always amazing. The miso soup is complimentary with a minimum $5 order and the staff are always pleasant. The only downside is they don't have any cooked food, it is purely sushi with some noodle soup options. This is a great little stop and eat Thai restaurant. They give you sit down meals at to-go prices. The decor is simple, bright, and very clean. There is no "Thai" decor except the King's picture, but they have a few tables as well as stool seating along window with a view of West Broadway . I like this place because it's very fast and a really good value. Their Combo specials are under $10.00 and the lunch specials even cheaper! ( I think they are 7.99) The portions are perfect and for the price of a fast food meal you get authentic Thai curry and rice loaded with your choice of meat and veggies. It is almost all Thai people that work there and if you can handle the heat you can ask for "Thai style" and get the dishes with a much hotter spicy flavor. So next time you are doing a little shopping on West Broadway and got a rumble in your stomach drop by! They are located 1/2 a block West from MacDonald street on Broadway on the South Side of the street. On a recent overnight visit to Bowen Island we woke up scratching our head wondering where we were going to get our coffee fix with no Starbucks locations on Bowen Island. Thank goodness for The Sung Cafe! No wonder this place was so busy! The service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Not only that but the pastries and the caramel macchiatos that they served up were as good, if not better than Starbucks.
