Pretty good shawarma place in Kanata. I usually get the platter as opposed the the wrap. Good amount of food for the money. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The chicken and beef are both pretty good. I've had the donair and it tends to be a little dry and the chicken or beef shawarma are so much better. The garlic potatoes are very good if you get them fresh (which the usually are). If they've been sitting around a while the tend to be very oily. The sauces and sides are pretty much the norm. My wife and i came here for a night out. We had been recomended the Brew Table by the concierge at the Holiday Inn down the street. We had the steak frites and it was incredible. Cooked perfectly and the service was the best i have ever recieved anywhere. An amazing dining experience all around from appetizer to dessert. I am new to the area and have slowly been experimenting with the various eateries in and around Ottawa and area. I happened upon Wakefield and stopped into Le Hibou on a whim. The chef, Keith Garrison, is the best thing to happen to place. I don't know exactly when he started but the difference in food quality from this time last year to now is staggering! Least of all is the fact that they have meat dishes there now. They absolutely hit the jackpot with him. Everyone in Wakefield needs to know his name; search him out. Since he started I have been there for a late lunch once and supper a couple of times and have not been disappointed. He even came out and chatted with me (along with the other customers) once. We were greeted at the door by a respectful very friendly young woman named kirsten, then brought to our nice roomy comfortable booth at the side of the restaurant. we were greeted by our server straight away, Tina, who Brought our first round of drinks. Once we saw the menu we ordered nice and quickly, the menu was quite detailed. Salad and bread was brought to our table and the feast began. when tina brought our food to the table i joked that i might have to take it home. I was able to eat a couple of pieces and she kindly packed the rest up for me. I enjoyed the NY theme in this resaurant.
