Highly overated food, I've never been happy with my meal, but I'm very picky and others that I dine with seem to always love it. It's never terrible, but I've never been blown away either, and there always seems to be a problem of some sort, you probably don't eat like me so I'm sure you'll enjoy it, if you are like me just get a burger, you won't hate it. I arrived in St. Johns off a cruise ship suffering what we soon figured out as sever side effects from a sea sickness patch. Blurred vision and pressure behind eyes. Dr Caissie and his staff were wonderful in squeezing me in during his lunch break. I found Dr. Caisse to be extremely knowledgeable, professional and all around caring person. I think the title of the review says it all, or almost. What a treat this place is! There can't be more than a dozen tables inside, with a couple more outside, and there were plenty of folks already enjoying the atmosphere when I arrived for a light lunch. On arrival you are greeted with GENUINE smiles from the courteous staff who obviously love working here, and a free small sample of tea. My sample was Lapsang Souchong... a bit too smokey for my taste, but interesting none the less. I ordered one of the lunch specials, Moroccan chicken and couscous soup, an egg salad sandwich, and from the rather extensive tea menu I chose the Assam Borengajuli tea. What can I say? It was lovely; a nice, light lunch, delicious soup (although I did have to add a bit of pepper for taste) and an excellent egg salad sandwich. I don't think I've ever considered an egg salad sandwich to be "refreshing" before, but this one was! It wasn't really anything special but it was good. Nice light whole-wheat bread, some nice crispy iceberg lettuce and egg salad that wasn't overpowered by the mayonnaise... or whatever was used. It was perfect! And the tea, well... I had never heard of "Assam Borengajuli" before, but I'll be danged if it isn't my new favorite! Absolutely delicious tea. For no particular reason, the word "genteel" springs to mind... A very nice experience over all, and I'm sure I will return. I'd recommend it to anyone. Read more
