Benz Automatic Transmission

Went in because multiple mechanics were recommending I go see a transmission specialist. For two years this tranny was slipping and stalling at stop signs, mechanic said I needed a new transmission from donor truck. Went into Benz, they spent a day analyzing the problem, checking leaks and stalling issues, as well as tough cold starts. Topped up fluids and flushed it, found the level ridiculously low. So mechanics all tried to get me to replace a tranny, that just saved me $5000, bill was $67.

They rebuilt my tranny using old parts that failed. After going back three times to get it fixed it’s now making a wining sound as slow down to stop. I won’t bother going back to them. I’ll just spend the money and have another shop fix it. I would not recommend

I knew my Allison transmission was due for a rebuild, on my way to work it just stopped working and was leaking oil. I brought it to Benz for a rebuild, they called and said they found a crack in the spin on oil filter and it was low 4 liters! after they filled it up it was working fine. I appreciated the honesty and decided to have the transmission done anyway for peace of mind (320k) with a tuner. I have a 1 year warranty and hope the tranny performs well. overall great service so far.

Transmission take...

Transmission takes a long time to complete up-shift (flaring) after their rebuild. They would not fix it.
